Sony Pictures still apparently wants to do that Shadow of the Colossus movie, and Joystiq reports that the studio has committed director Josh Trank to the slow-moving project.
Trank’s directorial history is pretty short, but when your first film is the smash-hit Chronicle, that’s not really a problem. Trank directed his debut summer blockbuster on a impressively tight $15 million dollar budget, so it’s appealing to think of what he can do with Sony’s deep pockets greasing the wheels.
Currently, Trank is also signed on to direct the next Fantastic Four film for Fox, along with Spider-Man spin-off Venom for Sony and The Red Star for Warner Bros.—so where he’s going to find the time for Shadow of the Colossus, already three years in development/production hell, is anyone’s guess.
