Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse for Nintendo 3DS delayed a few more months

Posted on March 6, 2014 AT 01:41pm

Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse—the next 3DS Shantae, not to be confused with the Kickstarter-funded Half-Genie Hero for consoles—will miss its intended Q1 release by a few months, developer WayForward revealed.

Pirate’s Curse is described as being twice as large as the previous Shantae title, Risky’s Revenge, and will open up the world to feel like a Metroidvania game than the previous two releases.

Shantae: Half-Genie Hero, on the other hand, successfully earned $776,084 in funding through Kickstarter back in October—$376,084 more than its intended $400,000 funding goal. As a result of reaching several stretch goals, Half-Genie Hero will sport an extra, Risky Boots–centric campaign, two bonus chapters, and stat-changing special costumes. Half-Genie hero is coming to PS4, Xbox One, PS3, PS Vita, Xbox 360, Steam, and Wii U.
