Yesterday, rumors were going around that Valve might be purchased by Korean game publisher Nexon. Rumors that a smart person wouldn’t believe. Rumors that, today, were indeed squashed by Valve.

During an interview at the Eurogamer Expo today, Valve’s Chet Faliszek cleared the air about the rumors to GamesIndustry.

“Yeah!” Faliszek told GI when asked if he would explicitly deny the rumor. “It’s funny because now all the internal emails will start – ‘what’s going on, this makes no sense!’ Where can these rumors possibly come from? The Apple rumor I think was from someone next door – there’s a steakhouse next to us and whenever anyone eats there who has some security they therefore must be meeting with us or something! I don’t know, it’s bizarre.”

So, there you have it—Valve is not being purchased by Nexon. I mean, unless they are, and they still want to keep that fact a secret for now. Except, that’s not at all the case. Maybe. Probably.
