Short Tales of Xillia Trailer Has Something to Say about Wishes, Dreams

Posted on August 5, 2013 AT 02:44pm

The latest (and arguably shortest) trailer—more of a web short, really—for Namco Bandai’s Tales of Xillia obtusely touches upon the game’s central conflict: two nations at war.

Okay, the trailer—while certainly doing a good job at getting across how pretty Xillia is—doesn’t do too well of a job at breaking down the game’s premise. But that’s okay, you have me. Gist is, med student Jude Mathis gets sucked into a mystery revolving around the death of wish-granting spirits, crosses paths with the game’s alternate protagonist, Milla Maxwell, forms a party with her and others, and the embarks on an epic question to bring peace to the game’s two ruling nations.

And not to be outdone by any other JRPGs with whackadoo combat system names, Xillia’s is known as the Double Raid Linear Motion Battle System (DR-LMBS). Dr. Limbs?

I kid, of course. I look forward to playing Xillia, and you all should look forward to Andrew’s review come tomorrow.

Tales of Xillia finally arrives in North America tomorrow, August 6, exclusively for the PlayStation 3.
