EA has announced the official release date for SimCity on Mac and also revealed that PC owners can get the game for free.
The game will be exclusively available on Origin from June 11. If you own the PC version of the game then you can download the Mac version for free and vice versa. Players who own both copies can access their cities regardless of which platform they are on.
“SimCity is coming to Mac on June 11 and one purchase will give you both the Mac and PC versions. You only need to buy SimCity once to play together across the same servers, regardless of which version you’re playing,” said Lucy Bradshaw, general manager of EA’s Maxis Label. “We didn’t want to make any compromises when it came to the Mac so we created a native version that is optimized for the hardware and OSX.”
Maxis confirmed earlier today that Cheetah Speed has been re-enabled in the game.
