Single-player Progress Will Not Carry Over With Next-gen Game Upgrades

Posted on September 26, 2013 AT 02:25am

Several retailers are offering gamers the chance to upgrade their current-gen titles to their next-gen equivalent at launch, but not all progress will carry over.

Titles such as Battlefield 4, Call of Duty: Ghosts, and FIFA 14 will all be available to upgrade at launch, and systems will be in place to carry over all your online statistics, ranks, and unlocks to the next-gen version when you upgrade. However, both Activision and EA have confirmed to Kotaku that single-player data will not carry over to next-gen.

Ubisoft also confirmed to Kotaku that single-player Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag data will not carry over either. The publisher was unable to confirm if Watch Dogs would be the same, but it stands a good chance that single-player data will be restricted also.
