According to the Financial Times, former Sony president and CEO Howard Stringer announced Friday his plans to retire as Sony’s chairman in June.

Stringer made this announcement during a Japan Society lecture Friday, declaring that upon retiring he planned to pursue “new opportunities I’ve been presented with lately.”
