Lab Zero Games has finally wrapped up development on the PlayStation Vita version of Skullgirls 2nd Encore.

“Here is #Skullgirls #Vita news! Port is finished & in the submission process,” the developer wrote on Twitter. “Release date once we’re approved!”

To accompany the announcement, the developer released a video showing the Vita version in action. The video shows off the loading times and framerate that players can expect when they get their hands on the handheld version.

“The loading time demonstration shows you the absolute LONGEST match loading time, which happens when you load two teams of 3 characters, using the 6 biggest characters (in terms of assets) in the game: Big Band, Squigly, Eliza, Cerebella, Ms Fortune, and Painwheel. Team combinations using fewer characters, smaller characters, or duplicate characters (on opposing teams) will result in faster loading times,” the developer wrote.

“The framerate demonstration shows you the slowest framerate you’ll see during a match, and occurs when Big Band hits the opponent and their assist character with his Lv3 Blockbuster (Strike Up The Band) while his own assist character is on screen.”

The PlayStation Vita version of Skullgirls will support cross-buy with the PlayStation 4 version, so owners of the game on PS4 can download it on Vita for free.
