Skyrim, Bastion, Nintendo All Absent At 2012 BAFTA Game Awards

THE BUZZ: The 2012 GAME British Academy Video Game Awards were held today, and names like Skyrim, Bastian, and Nintendo were nowhere to be found.

EGM’s TAKE: BAFTA—the British Academy of Film and Television Arts—are of course a big name in the world of entertainment. Today, the organization held their video games-related awards ceremony.

The interesting part? A number of big names went home empty handed—names such as The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Bastion, and anything released by Nintendo.

Here are the list of winners:

Story: Portal 2
Original Music: L.A. Noire
Audio Achievement: Battlefield 3
Design: Portal 2
Game Innovation: LittleBigPlanet 2
Strategy: Total War: Shogun 2
Mobile & Handheld: Peggle
GAME Award of 2011 (Public voted one): Battlefield 3
Action: Batman: Arkham City
“Ones to watch” award: Tick Tock Toys
Online – Browser: Monstermind
Artistic Achievement: Rayman: Origins
Sports/Fitness: Kinect Sports Season 2
