THE BUZZ: The Skyrim Creation Kit is now available to download from Steam, and comes with a couple of surprises.
The Creation Kit is available for free via Steam and allows players to easily create, share and install mods. The first bonus is a high-res texture pack for the game which is, ”allowing players to experience Skyrim as you’ve never seen it before,” according to Bethesda.
Secondly Valve and Bethesda have joined forces to introduce Portal 2′s Wheatley (voiced by Nolan North) into the Skyrim world via the “Fall of the Space Core, Vol.1″ mod. He will follow you around and comment on various things.
EGM’s TAKE: This is great news for modders and lovers of Skyrim in general, if you thought the game was amazing before you wait until you check out what this tool can do. If that hasn’t got you excited then the high-res texture pack certainly will. Now as far as we’re aware no one ever really complained about the textures being low quality in Skyrim so it’s shocking to see this pack released, but no ones going to complain about making this beautiful game look even better, right? Then there’s Wheatley, the loveable robot from Portal 2 who you can now drag all across Skyrim with you thanks to Valve. So what are you waiting for? Go and check out you brand new Skyrim goodies right now on Steam.
