THE BUZZ: Bethesda has announced that it’s shipped seven million copies of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim during its first week of release.

More than 50% of launch units were sold within the first 48 hours with many major retailers across Norther America and Europe placing large reorders. Steam also announced that within the first 24 hours of Skyrims’ release over 280,000 concurrent players were online.

EGM’s TAKE: An RPG launch that rivals major shooter sales? We love to see that, as it speaks to the diversity of gamers today.
