Slick Assassin’s Creed 3 Parkour Video Shows The Right Way To Free-Run
Posted on September 4, 2012 AT 11:15am
Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed series has been through various points in history, but that hasn’t stopped fans from considering how the game would looks with a modern-day spin. Ubisoft must’ve been thinking the exact same thing.
As a treat for PAX 2012 attendees, the developer/publisher introduced an Assassin’s Creed III-themed video, with parkour stuntman Ronnie Shalvis leapfrogging and wall-climbing his way through a dense city.
Aside from the extensive stunts, the team’s behind-the-scenes piece also notes the surprisingly elaborate Assassin’s outfit that Shalvis was required to wear, plus the advanced camera work that went into filming the action.
(Pay special attention to the green-screen segment in the second video to see how the first leap is done.)
If you’re not familiar with the team’s work, you can look up their YouTube page here and here.
It’s altogether a very good look at parkour videos and how to properly film them, especially with the attention to detail on actual free-running techniques. Assassins’ Creed III is out at the end of October, so don’t try this at home.
