Originally set for release in fall of this year, Sony has officially pushed back the release of Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time.
The game’s new release window? Early 2013. Now, I see this as both good and bad news. On the good side, the end of this year is already super-crowded with games, so it makes sense for Sony to not want Thieves in Time to get lost in the shuffle. The bad? A number of other companies had that exact same thought, so now early 2013 is also jam-packed with releases.
Sony released this statement in response to the news of the game’s delay:
“Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time will be releasing in February 2013 for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita. With a robust and diverse catalog of first and third party content launching this holiday season- including Wonderbook: Book of Spells, PlayStation All Stars: Battle Royale, Little Big Planet Karting, Assassins Creed III, Assassin’s Creed III Liberation, Madden 13 and Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified – we have decided to release Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time in February 2013 to ensure gamers continue to have a variety of content to enjoy after the holidays and into the New Year.”
