Snoop Dogg, né Snoop Lion, has his own rhythm fighter coming to PSN, XBLA, and mobile platforms, publisher 505 Games announced today.

Way of the Dogg, developed by Echo Peak, follows the journey of America Jones, a fighter out to avenge the death of his girlfriend, Sierra. To this end, America Jones ventures to Snoop Dogg’s temple in order to learn the Way of the Dogg.

Way of the Dogg is the first true gamification of my music,” says Snoop Dogg in the press release. “This game shows how we evolve as individuals and [Echo Peak has] incorporated the journey of my own personal reincarnation as Snoop Lion into my character, the environments and the path that players have to follow.”

The battles in Way of the Dogg are fought to the rhythm of Snop Dogg tracks.

No specific release date was provided, but the press release did mention that Way of the Dogg will launch “alongside Snoop’s new album and film, Reincarnated,” which chronicles Snoop’s transformation from rapper to reggae artist.

The film hits select cities March 23, while the album drops April 23.
