It’s one of the perils of this generation of games: the high cost of game development means big titles have to sell hundreds of thousands of copies before they’ll make money.
Case in point: Bulletstorm.
Talking to Kotaku, Epic president Mike Capps said that the game “didn’t make money for us”. Bulletstorm barely sold 300,000 copies in its first month; for many smaller games, that would be an amazing number, but for Bulletstorm, EA says that it “under-performed”.
Still, Capps says that his company doesn’t regret the development and release of Bulletstorm.
