Kingdom Hearts

The recent discussions surrounding Kingdom Hearts III have mostly been rumors of new worlds, but soon fans could have a little more insight into a few of the game’s most intriguing features. The Official PlayStation Magazine U.K. has revealed Kingdom Hearts III will be the April cover story, with a new interview with series creator Tetsuya Nomura on Keyblade transformations, boss fights, and more.

According to details pulled from the upcoming issue (via Gaming Bolt), Nomura goes into further detail on the information we learned from the Tokyo D23 Expo and Monster’s Inc. world reveal trailer, including how Sora’s Keyblade will transform in the game’s various worlds. Players will reportedly see two transformations per Keyblade, with Nomura explaining the process of gaining both transformations using the Tangled world’s Mirage Staff attack as an example.

While the previously revealed Toy Story world received a lengthy trailer, not much is known about the main enemy Sora and the gang will be going up against. However, the upcoming interview will supposedly reveal players will fight “a Zurg-themed Heartless spaceship” while visiting the world. Also, more about the Attraction Flow attacks will be explained, including the Mad Tea Cups seen in the Hercules trailer.

Of course, while these teases are tantalizing for Kingdom Hearts fans, we’ll have to wait for the complete interview when the April issue hits shelves soon. Players should also keep an eye on April’s Kingdom Hearts Union X fan event, as many signs point to the debut of a new trailer there. With the recent rumors of Frozen and The Jungle Book getting turned into worlds in the upcoming game, players could see one or more of them confirmed soon.

Kingdom Hearts III is expected to launch in 2018 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
