Some Rock Band DLC Removed Due to License Expiration

Posted on April 9, 2013 AT 01:56am

Harmonix has announced that some songs are set to be removed from the Rock Band Store due to license agreements expiring.

The developer stated that some of the game’s earlier DLC tracks will start to be removed from the store. At the moment the only content affected by this is the Metallica Pack 01, which contains the tracks “Ride The Lightning,” “And Justice For All,” and “Blackened.”

These tracks will also be removed from the PlayStation Store, Xbox Live Marketplace, and Wii Store in the near future. Harmonix is attempting to extend the licenses “to minimize the impact on the RB catalog and RB community.”

Please be aware that this will not affect players who have already bought the tracks, you now own them so they will stay on your hard drive and be playable forever. Players should still be able to re-download purchased tracks even after they have been removed.
