Super Mario

Luigi has always been somewhat of an enigma in the grand scheme of the Mario universe. How did he get so good at fighting ghosts? Why are his feet so slippery? What size is his penis when flaccid?

Thankfully, Tumblr has worked out the answer to that last question with some highly scientific examination.

It all started when one Tumblr user noticed something interesting about Nintendo’s key art of Luigi from Mario Tennis Aces: Luigi has a bulge.

See it? Here’s a closer look:

Yep, that’s a bulge all right.

However, this posed an interesting—nay, indispensable—question: How big, exactly, is Luigi’s penis?

Thanks to modern scientific advances, another Tumblr user was able to analyze the image and give us cold, hard numbers.

First, the Tumblr user translated pixels to inches by measuring the size of Luigi’s tennis racket head, which are generally 28 inches long. The tennis racket is approximately 300 pixels long, whereas Luigi’s bulge is around 40 pixels long. After crunching the numbers, it was discovered that Luigi’s bulge is approximately 3.7 inches long.

Taking this a step further, we measured Luigi’s height at around 416 pixels, or around 39 inches, meaning his penis is around one-tenth the length of the rest of his body.

Of course, this doesn’t answer every question we never knew we had about Luigi’s penis, as the genius Tumblr user who did the legwork points out:

some rough work reveals that luigi may be close to four inches flaccid, although this is a) simply one interpretation of which way his dick is resting, b) therefore is merely an educated guess as to length, c) does not account for any level of partial erection, & d) reveals little to nothing about his erect measurement

Well, there you have it. Enjoy having this bit of information in the back of your mind while playing Luigi’s Balloon World in Super Mario Odyssey.

Mario Tennis Aces will launch for Nintendo Switch on June 22nd.

That being said, if he's a fanboy, he's a fanboy for the game industry as a whole. Spit white-hot fanboy hate at him, trash talk his Gold II rank on Rocket League, or maybe just send him a cordial hello on Twitter @gogogoroff.

Someone used math to find out the size of Luigi’s, uh, toadstool

The year of Luigi may be over, but Mario's brother still has ample reason to celebrate.
