Sonic Fan-Film Premiering At MAGFest 11, Jaleel White Reprises Role

In one of the most unlikely character revivals this year, Jaleel White (Steve Urkel, Family Matters) will be providing his iconic vocal talent for Sonic the Hedgehog in an upcoming fan film. Hello, 1993.
Created by Blue Core Studios, the same production team that made the Megaman fan film, this new Sonic project will be released online on January 9th, 2013.
However, MAGFest 11 gets the first exclusive look at the entire thing, as noted this BCS press release:
After 2 years in the making, the live-action “Sonic” fan film starring Jaleel White will be released online January 9th, 2013 after a world premiere screening at MAGFest 2013, occurring January 3th-6th. The screening will have Writer/Director Eddie Lebron in attendance with Producers David S. Horowitz and Daniel Horowitz, all of whom will be doing a Q&A after the screening.
Guys, I’m not going to lie, the Megaman film was pretty horrible, but at least the Sonic fan film seems like a bit of a step in a better, more serious direction. I mean, at least Sonic is a CG animation, and not some guy in a furry suit.
Maybe the trailer from last summer can help shed some light on this… Huh. Well. That’s definitely Jaleel White.
