Sonic Team – No Plans For Future Sonic Episodes

THE BUZZ: Sonic Team has revealed that it currently has no plans to release any more Sonic episodes after Sonic 4: Episode 2 releases.

“We are looking forward to hearing the feedback from the users for Episode 2, but we are currently not planning to release another episode,” said Sonic Team producer Takashi Iizuka. ”We just want to see how the users accept this episode.”

Several new screenshots from Episode 2 were released yesterday.

EGM’s TAKE: The original plan was to release several new Sonic episodes in quick succession. However, after a lengthy development time for Episode 2 and Episode 1′s mixed reviews, it appears that the team has decided to call it a day. If Episode 2 does well in sales then it only makes sense that the team would then consider future episodes, but they are not going to risk the resources until they know for sure.
