THE BUZZ: Sony has claimed that their new 3D headset will revolutionize both gaming and movies when it launches in November.
The headset will feature two 1280×720 OLED panels as lenses, as well as 5.1 surround sound from built in headphones. The device is known as the HMZ-T1 Personal 3D Viewer and goes on sale in Japan November 11th, priced at 60,000 Yen. There has been no official word on an international release.
“Packed with groundbreaking technology and fitting easily around your eyes and ears, the Personal 3D Viewer is set to revolutionise the way you experience games and movies forever,” said Sony.
EGM’s TAKE: We love new technology and anything that brings us one step closer to virtual reality is alright in our books, but we’re not sure we want to sit around looking like Geordi from Star Trek: TNG.
