In what I can only describe a direct potshot made at Microsoft, Sony announced during their pre-E3 press conference that the company will not only emphasize indie development, but allow indies to self-publish.

An admirable chunk of Sony’s press conference was dedicated to indie games, including an impressive listing of PlayStation 4-exclusive indie gems, including new games by 17-Bit Games (Skulls of the Shogun) and developers who worked on Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game.

The PlayStation 4 launches worldwide this fall.
