THE BUZZ: In what comes as something of a surprise, Sony today revealed at Destination PlayStation that a new cart racing game will be coming to PS3 based around the LittleBigPlanet franchise.

EGM’s TAKE: Not satisfied with simply letting players build their own racing games via LittleBigPlanet 2, Sony today revealed that LittleBigPlanet Cart Racing will be coming to the PlayStation 3 at some point in the future.

Few details were given, but what is known is that the game will fully support the Move controller, and will offer the option for playing in 3D. Personally, given that this is a LBP game, I’m also going to make the educated guess that it’ll feature at least some level of user customization support, though to what degree is the question. Or what about the idea of being able to import your personalized Sack Boys (and/or Girls) from LittleBigPlanet 2? That could be another nice feature.

In other news, the Modnation Racers team is rumored to be sitting in a corner somewhere, quietly crying to themselves.
