Sony has officially confirmed yesterday’s rumors of a Gran Turismo movie being in development.

The Wrap reported yesterday that a film was in production with Fifty Shades of Grey producers Michael de Luca and Dana Brunetti on board, and Sony Pictures executives Elizabeth Cantillon, Devon Franklin, and Hannah Minghella overseeing the project.

A Sony Computer Entertainment U.K. spokesperson has since told Joystiq that the film is “being made,” adding that the company has no further comment at this time.
