Sony Digs at Microsoft with Tongue-in-Cheek Game Sharing Instructional Video

In an obvious dig at the Xbox One’s used-game restrictions, Sony has released a brief, snarky instructional video showcasing how you’ll be able to share your PlayStation 4 games with friends. In short, you hand the disc to them, just like you do now.

Though it may be obvious in light of the PS4′s open policy towards used games, it’s amusing to see it acted out deadpan by Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida and VP of developer and publisher relations Adam Boyes. It’s also fascinating to see Sony going after Microsoft so aggressively when it comes to consumer rights. It’s been a long time since one console has so blatantly attacked another, but when it comes to something as important and controversial as DRM, Sony’s upfront response is likely to go over quite well with the advocacy crowd.

As for the instructional vid, you can check it out below.

The PlayStation 4 is out this holiday season in North America and Europe with a price tag of $399, €399, and £349.
