The PlayStation 4 could see a reveal before E3 2013 in June, according to Sony Home Entertainment VP Hiroshi Sakamoto.
Sakamoto broke the company’s silence regarding the PlayStation 4 in an interview with emol.com at CES last week. “That’s still a big secret,” he is reported to have said when asked about a new PlayStation model being released. “But our friends are preparing PlayStation. I can only say that we are focused on the E3 gaming event, scheduled for June. Announcement may be in that minute or even earlier in May.”
When probed further as to whether it was a “big announcement” or “something additional,” he replied “probably the first.” Sakamoto added, “In that time we expect to deliver great news, but we must wait until May at least.”
The quotes have been translated from the original interview which was done in Spanish, however they do fall in line with previous reports which strongly place this year as the time for next-generation announcements. Of course you have to take this information with a pinch of salt as with all next-generation news until Sony officially reveals the console.
