Sony has filed a new trademark application for something called “PlayStation TV.”
The application lists PlayStation TV as a “service” and was filed with the United States Patent and Trademark Office last month. Sony previously filed a trademark for PlayStation TV back in 2006, but it lapsed last year.
It’s unclear if this trademark will actually lead to a TV service being released by the company, but Sony has made it clear over the last few months that it intends to start growing its media offerings via a collaboration with Sony Pictures.
