Sony has officially announced the date and time for it’s E3 2017 press briefing, named the PlayStation E3 Media Showcase.
The PlayStation showcase will take place on Monday, June 12th, at 6 p.m. PT in Los Angeles’s Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall. The showcase is taking place in the same time slot and location as Sony’s press briefing last year, one day prior to the opening of the show floor.
It remains to be seen what Sony has in store for its fans this year, but the showcase would be remiss without the first gameplay of The Last of Us Part II—announced at the PlayStation Experience last year—as well as something new from the upcoming stand-alone expansion Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. Fans should also expect to learn if the recently leaked release date for God of War has any validity.
While Microsoft normally shares the Monday of E3 with Sony, the publisher is moving its conference back to June 11th this year, now sharing the day with Bethesda Softworks. Nintendo will be forgoing a “large-scale press conference” for another year—likely to be replaced again by a Nintendo Direct broadcast—while Electronic Arts is bringing back its E3-adjacent EA Play Showcase media event, running June 10th through the 12th.
