Jack Tretton, chief executive of PlayStation America, has stated that Sony is aiming to ensure that its next-gen console can be purchased throughout the holiday period.
Following the news that over one million people had pre-ordered the PlayStation 4 many feared that the console would sell-out on launch day. However, Tretton has insisted that Sony will be able to replenish stock after launch day.
“We want to make sure people can buy a PS4 on November 15 (November 29 in Europe) and through the holidays, so we’re holding back some inventory to make sure people will be able to buy one,” he told Fox Business. “We can pre-sell every unit we can manufacture, and the good news is that production yields have been phenomenal. We’re going to work very hard to make sure that every consumer that wants one gets one.”
