Sony is investigating reports of hardware issues with its pre-launch PlayStation 4 consoles, according to Sony President of Worldwide Studios Shuhei Yoshida.

Some of the reported issues so far include faulty HDMI ports, issues with the OS, and just plain dead on arrival consoles. These issues have been experienced by both the press and winners of the Taco Bell PlayStation 4 contest.

When a user stated that it was only a “small” number compared to launch consoles and not compared to pre-launch consoles currently out in the wild, Yoshida replied “no, compared to shipped pre-launch units.”
