Sony Online Entertainment has decided to scrap plans to introduce real-money character buffs to PlanetSide 2‘s cash shop, following a massive fan outcry.

“After reading through your comments we have decided to go back to the drawing board on implants,” Sony Online Entertainment president John Smedley wrote on Twitter. “They will not be coming with [forthcoming update] GU13.”

Fans took to various social media sites to voice their concerns and anger over the decision to add “pay-to-win” style items to PlanetSide 2, and it appears that SOE listened and reacted.
