Sony today announced that three of their released games will soon be losing all support for online multiplayer.

On August 31st, The Eye of Judgement Legends on PSP will have its online servers taken down. And then, on October 1st, the following games will suffer the same fate:

  • MotorStorm Pacific Rift (PS3)
  • MotorStorm Arctic Edge (PSP)
  • SOCOM: Fireteam Bravo 3 (PSP)

It’s really a shame that online server support is set up in a way that makes it so taking games offline is a decision that sometimes makes sense. However, this certainly isn’t the first time that this has happened for PlayStation games; in posting the news of these servers going offline, Sony reminded us of all of their previously decommissioned titles:

  • Gran Turismo 5 Prologue
  • MotorStorm
  • Race Driver: GRID
