THE BUZZ: Sony has released firmware update 1.66 to all PlayStation Vitas, as a replacement for the 1.65 update released yesterday.
Nothing appears to have changed between the two updates, however 1.65 was pulled by Sony due to a “technical fault.”
EGM’s TAKE: Hopefully whatever the issue was has been fixed with this new update. The interesting thing is that no users complained over any issues after downloading the 1.65 update, so we wonder what could have been wrong. Maybe the update had a backdoor opening that hackers could have exploited, an issue with the Vita lately with a couple of PSN titles being pulled for the same reason. Everything seems to be working fine now anyway, so go enjoy your new update.
