Sony survey hints at possible future PlayStation 4 features

Posted on April 2, 2014 AT 05:34am

Sony has sent out a survey to PlayStation 4 owners that asks for their opinion on possible future features that could be added to the console.

The survey (via VGXNetwork) asks for players’ opinions on features such as a reputation system based on user ratings, an advanced matchmaking system, and the ability to become invisible while being online. The most interesting point on this survey has to be the ability to chance your PlayStation username, presumably if this became a reality it would involve some sort of fee, similar to changing your Gamertag on Xbox.

Other features mentioned in the survey include the ability to party chat with more than eight players, on-screen notifications when friends come online, and the synchronization of messages across platforms. Users are asked to rate these features on a scale of ”very appealing” to “very unappealing.”

Now this survey is by no means a confirmation that these features are coming in the future. This is simply Sony gauging interest in the features mentioned above. They may never see the light of day, so don’t get too excited.
