Sony – The Last Guardian is Going Through a Rebuilding Process
Posted on February 10, 2012 AT 10:20am
THE BUZZ: Shuhei Yoshida, President of Sony Worldwide Studios, has revealed that development on The Last Guardian is progressing, just very slowly.
Team ICO is currently in the stage of scrapping and rebuilding certain aspects of the game and this has slowed development. ”The project has been making progress, but slow progress. So that’s tough, but we haven’t changed any focus. It’s still a really important project and a vision we want to see realised, and Fumito’s vision is really causing a very difficult challenge for the developers, so there’s some scrapping and rebuilding – iteration in the process. That’s why it’s taking so long,” Yoshida told 1up.
EGM’s TAKE: The Last Guardian is one of the PlayStation 3′s most anticipated titles, with many Team ICO fans dying to see the finished product finally hit stores. However, it appears that day is still a long way off. Sometimes developers can strive a little too hard for perfection and that’s how delays and long development times start to build up. Hopefully all this extra time spent rebuilding will be worth it when everything is all said and done, but Team ICO hasn’t let us down yet.
