Sony to Close Liverpool Studio
Posted on August 22, 2012 AT 05:18am

Sony has announced that it will be closing its Liverpool development studio as part of a reorganization of the company.
Sony is looking to relocate staff from the Liverpool studio to other areas of the business so job losses should be minimal. However, it is only the development team that will be affected by this closure, the Liverpool campus will still house the Xdev team, localization, and the finance group.
“It has been decided that Liverpool Studio should be closed. Liverpool Studio has been an important part of SCE Worldwide Studios since the outset of PlayStation, and have contributed greatly to PlayStation over the years,” PlayStation Europe said in a statement to CVG. “Everyone connected with Liverpool Studio, past and present, can be very proud of their achievements.”
