Sony has confirmed that it will announce its release plans for the PlayStation 4 at its press conference during Gamescom 2013 tomorrow.

“We’ll kick off the show at 18:00 BST on 20 August 2013 with a briefing to media on our release plans for PlayStation 4, as well as updates on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita,” the company wrote on its official blog.

The briefing is due to take place at the Saatenhaus am Rheinpark in Cologne. So far all Sony has offered regarding the console’s release date is a vague holiday 2013 release window.

Microsoft is also expected to confirm the official release date of its own Xbox One console during its Gamescom 2013 press conference, which is also scheduled for tomorrow.
