Sony Working on Getting Mass Effect 3 Challenge Weekends on PlayStation 3

THE BUZZ: Sony has said that it is currently working with BioWare to get weekend events for Mass Effect 3 on to the PlayStation 3.
The multiplayer events have been appearing on both Xbox 360 and PC, but have been missing from PlayStation 3 since launch. BioWare revealed that Sony were not allowing them to run the events due to undisclosed issues.
Sony has now come out and said that it is working with BioWare to get the events on PlayStation 3 as soon as possible.
“We are currently working together with EA and BioWare on an implementation to bring Mass Effect 3 multiplayer weekends to PS3,” a rep told Shacknews.
EGM’s TAKE: The reasons for the events being missing on PlayStation 3 are probably related to the improved security the console now has after the attacks of last year. Sony doesn’t allow games to upload feedback data except for Trophies. BioWare’s events require data to be uploaded regarding accomplishments to unlock rewards, and could be why the events can’t be run on PlayStation 3. We’re certain that Sony and BioWare can come up with a solution that will allow PlayStation 3 players to take part.
