THE BUZZ: Namco Bandai is currently airing a new television advert for Soul Calibur V.

EGM’s TAKE: The whole thing just screams desperation for the first 30 seconds, as real people are shown dressing up as their favorite characters from the series, kind of like a really bad cosplay convention. However, things pick up once the in-game footage starts to play, showing some top-notch fighting between a few of the game’s roster. Soul Calibur V looks like it’s ready to stake its claim to the top of the fighting genre, with beautiful graphics, a host of colorful characters and a fluid fighting system, there isn’t much that can possibly stop it. Personally I tend to steer clear of beat ’em ups, but Soul Calibur has completely changed my opinion and I’m really excited to get my hands on it.

Are you excited for the game? Which character will you be? Leave a comment below.
