Soul Sacrifice Demo Save Files Transfer to Full Game

Posted on April 16, 2013 AT 11:43am

Soul Sacrifice’s demo will be available on PSN later today, and producer Kumi Yuasa revealed that players’ saved progressed on the demo will transfer over to the full game.

Posting on the PlayStation Blog, Yuasa mentioned that the Soul Sacrifice demo will include a sizable chunk of the game’s opening—the entire first chapter—and as such, the save data will carry over to the full game.

“The number one reason for the Soul Sacrifice demo to have a lot of content was to show the users the full attraction of Soul Sacrifice,” said designer Keiji Inafune. “We knew that cutting out a small section of the game and saying, ‘Isn’t this part fun?’ would not show the users the full potential of the game. We figured that it wouldn’t make sense if the users could not have the ‘I want to play more’ feeling.’”

The Soul Sacrifice demo allows for single-player and multiplayer via both ad-hoc and online, though the multiplayer component of the demo will be shut down April 30, when the game launches in North America for PlayStation Vita.

The demo also unlocks the “Spirits’ Heart” item, which Yuasa says gives players the power to summon a fighting golem companion.
