Soulcalibur

Bandai Namco has revealed Soulcalibur series regular, Voldo, will be spider-crawling and slashing his way into Soulcalibur VI.

The always unpredictable and downright odd character was revealed to be joining the upcoming fighting game’s cast through a new trailer. Voldo’s trademark straps, spikes, and dual blades will return, letting him quickly spin into opponents, as seen in the clip below.

Unlike the most recent fighter to be confirmed for Soulcalibur VI, Talim, Voldo has appeared in almost all of the entries in the fighting franchise, including the original Soul Edge. When he first appeared, he acted as a guard of his former master’s final resting place. As the series progressed, Voldo began to hunt for the legendary sword Soul Edge to bring it back to the Merchant of Venice’s tomb.

As previously revealed, Soulcalibur VI‘s Soul Chronicle mode will piece together the franchise’s long-running story and put a spotlight on every available fighter, which means fans should get an update on Voldo’s whereabouts and any unknown events he’s participated in throughout the series.

Soulcalibur VI is set to launch for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on October 19th.
