Spider-Man

While Insomniac’s upcoming Spider-Man game made a big appearance at E3 with new details and a trailer, there were also a few mysteries thrown into the mix. In particular, could the Avengers appear in Spidey’s next adventure?

Attendees of this year’s E3 were given some hands-on time with Marvel’s Spider-Man, and it appears exploring was encouraged. According to Shacknews‘ time with the game, Tony Stark’s Avengers tower was spotted in the New York skyline. As seen in the images below, hanging from the Empire State Building gives a better view of the city, including the iconic Avengers location.

The tower’s inclusion could mean the influential group of heroes, including Iron Man, Captain America, and Black Widow, will appear as NPCs or even join Spider-Man in his journey. Of course, it could also just be a fun nod to the larger comic-themed universe that Peter Parker inhabits.

With September rapidly approaching, it shouldn’t be too long before fans have answers. For now, we do know a few more villains that will be in the mix. In the latest E3 trailer for Marvel’s Spider-Man, it’s been confirmed we’ll have to go up against this game’s version of the Sinister Six, which will consist of Electro, Rhino, Scorpion, Vulture, and Mister Negative. However, in the final moments of the footage, another baddie steps into the fold, and while we don’t see who it is, Peter appears shocked to see them. Perhaps Green Goblin or Doctor Octopus will be leading the gang of villains, but we’ll have to wait to find out.

Marvel’s Spider-Man will launch exclusively for PlayStation 4 on September 7th.
