Spider-Man

There have been some great superhero games over the years, but none have sold as fast in the U.S. as this year’s Marvel’s Spider-Man.

Despite selling incredibly well since launch, Spider-Man has struggled to outsell 2015’s Batman: Arkham Knight. According to NPD analyst Mat Piscatella, however, those days are now behind us. As of the end of November, Marvel’s Spider-Man is now the fastest-selling superhero game ever in the US.

This feat is particularly impressive considering Batman: Arkham Knight had all major platforms to sell on, while Spider-Man is exclusive to the PS4.

Spider-Man released back in September, but has managed to stay on our minds with its ongoing DLC season. The final expansion in the current season, Silver Lining, launches today, December 21st. Developer Insomniac has also been on the ball in responding to community feedback, as demonstrated by a highly-requested skin recently hitting the game.

Nick didn’t start gaming until mid-2006. Once his parents finally allowed a console into the house, it was all uphill from there. Starting out with a PS2, he grew an affinity for Sony consoles and moved on to the PS3, and now the PS4. He keeps his gaming palette wide, but, gun to his head, he’d have to say shooters are his genre of choice. Find him on Twitter @idole808
