This year the Spike Video Game Awards has been re-branded, according to Spike host Geoff Keighley.

The awards will air on the same date as last year, December 7, but this time round they will go under the name of VGX. No reason was given for the name change, but the “expanded digital footprint” may have something to do with it.

There’s no word on nominations or who will be hosting at the moment.
