Sportsfriends, a collection of four multiplayer indie games, will launch on Sony’s home consoles next month, on May 6, producer and Johann Sebastian Joust creator Doug Wilson announced today.
In addition to the last-man-standing shenanigans of Johann Sebastian Joust, Sportsfriends contains the Smash Bros.–esque multiplayer battler BaraBariBall, the competitive pole vaulting game Super Pole Riders (from the creator of QWOP), and the minimalistic, top-down sports, pixel-art-only Hokra.
According to Wilson, the PS4 version will support DualShock 4 and up to four players in Johann Sebastian Joust, while the PS3 version will support up to seven players and the DualShock 3 (in addition to the PlayStation Move controller, for which Johann Sebastian Joust was designed around). Anyone who picks up the PS3 version will nab the PS4 version free.
These four games were brought together under the Sportsfriends banner through a Kickstarter campaign that reached a successful $150,000 funding goal on December 10, 2012.
