It turns out that the secret game announcement teased by Square Enix last week wasn’t Star Ocean, it’s actually a brand new MMO called Star Galaxy.

Star Galaxy is a browser-based sci-fi MMO that allows up to 2000 players to battle against one another with some players acting as commanders, managing resources, infrastructure, and power sources. Battles are card-based and players can strengthen the war effort by building bases, locking down resources, and capturing planets.

There are four playable factions in the game–The Boldor Imperial Army led by Roy Bismark, The Holy Knights of Selshion led by Dia Vite, The Universe Trading Union led by Tagel, and The Republic led by Vivian. Yahoo Japan is in charge of development and a closed beta is scheduled to begin December 20. You can check out the announcement trailer below.
