Square Enix CEO for the Americas and Europe Phil Rogers has officially confirmed that a sequel for the Tomb Raider reboot is currently “well into development.”

News of a sequel first broke when writer Gail Simone announced she was working on a comic that would bridge the gap between the original and the as then unannounced sequel.

“It’s still early days, so I’m afraid I can’t provide any further details for now save my assurance that we’re not resting on our laurels and acclaim from Tomb Raider’s recent successes, but working hard to raise the bar even higher and re-affirm the faith you’ve shown,” added Darrell Gallagher, head of product development and studios at Square Enix.
