Gematsu reports that Square Enix has re-registered the trademark for Final Fantasy Agito XIII, hinting at the possibility of a release outside of Japan.

Final Fantasy Agito XIII—originally known as Final Fantasy Type-0—is one of the three games that form the Fabula Nova Crystallis series (along with Final Fantasy XIII proper and much-awaited Versus XIII). The PSP action-RPG was originally released in Japan October 27, 2011, but never saw a North American or European release.

During the 2013 PlayStation Event, Square Enix exec Shinji Hashimoto promised that Square Enix would have Final Fantasy news during this year’s E3—although, specifically, he mentioned a new Final Fantasy for PS4. And while Agito doesn’t qualify as big PS4 news, Sony is geared to have a PS4 and PS Vita-heavy presence at this year’s E3, so perhaps Agito is making the jump to Vita.
