THE BUZZ: A few months ago a domain was discovered for Final Fantasy XIII-3, registered by Square-Enix, before a second title has even been released, however it appears that this registration does not signal another game.

Voice actress Asuka Nishi heard these rumors and contacted Square Japan’s public relations agent Akio Ofuji to ask for a role in the game. This was the first that Ofuji has heard of the domain and has now explained that it was registered by Square-Enix America, as a precaution, unbeknownst to Square Japan.

EGM’s TAKE: It appears that a simple break down in communication was to blame for the wild rumors of a third game, which likely won’t be happening.
