It may sound like a non-story for those unfamiliar with Bravely Default, but anyone who played the original game knows that when it comes to a subtitle in this series, there’s more than meets the eye. With that in mind, Square Enix has revealed that the second entry in Silicon Studio’s throwback RPG franchise will be officially known as Bravely Second: End Layer.
The first game’s subtitle, Where the Fairy Flies (Flying Fairy in Japan) ended up being relevant to the plot that unfolded in-game. In fact, in an interview with Famitsu, translated by Siliconera, producer Tomoya Asano mentioned that having a subtitle without meaning for Bravely Second “would disappoint fans,” so let the analyzing begin with the sequel.
Bravely Second: End Layer is currently scheduled for an April 23rd debut in Japan, but a Western date remains unannounced. Unlike with the first game, however, a release in North America and Europe is anticipated from the start this time around.
